i ment on the other system not gameplay VS is the only nice thing about the game imo but in L4D most fun always got spoiled by voting jackasses and friigin moronic idiots so you have to find 8 people that want to play at the exact same time to have a decent game and not get votekicked because you missed someone with a hunter and killed 2 peopel with smoker prior... fun and all to have LZ servers but even LZ servers can have jackasses votekicking you for no apparent reason thus making it a crappy and frustrating experience
I found a way to keep the game awesome for a really long time and not getting frustated because of lame/stupid/trolling players. Only play with friends! well yeah, you play a little less. but that's why the game keeps fun to play, because you don't "overplay" it. and when you're only with friends you will lyao! and because you "know" each other trolling is out of the question. I rarely play online with unknown people and it works fine for me
You can play Team versus also, that means you only need 4 players and you can play against another team of 4 players. So there are two teams of players willing to play versus. This improves the chance you will play a nice game. Otherwise, yeah, you need to find 8 players. Might take a while to get everyone into the game but most of the time I managed to get it filled with friends only. Of course I expanded my friends list with players of random versus games with the right spirit. Getting a friends game to fill up shouldn't be so hard. You're more then welcome to play with us: most of Team-dPu, Domerunner, Snelvuur, Chicane, Bakkerbart, Killvion, Jer9, Metamess, Maddragon (soon), Tatum, Shaken, Koen de Kameel, Pim de Pinguin, Beast_NL and so many more...... What's in L4D2 is, beside the new special infected Snelvuur mentioned, the uncommon infected (like the mudman and clown). These are sort of the leaders of the common infected (the zombies). Its fun to honk the clown (melee him) and get a achievement while you're at it. The maps also show great improvements. Walking in water (there's a lot of it in Hard Rain) slows you down a lot, you really want to avoid it. Another nice thing is that there is more freedom in the routing. It's not like No Mercy, one way to the end. Much more flexibility here and larger setups. Effects are much better to. Where there is fire, there is smoke. Which makes it more difficult to find you way out if you're inside a burning hotel. Did you open one of the doors with a fire behind it? Ow... thats to bad, now the hallway is blocked and you have to go around it. Which means climbing out of a window and walking on the ledge outside to pass that burning room and find another way back. And ofcourse there are the new game plays. Haven't played Realism yet because I found it to be quite hard to end a campaign game in normal mode and after that there still is advanced and expert to be played before even thinking of realism I suppose. Scavange is nice. One team versus another team. Team survivor needs to fill up a generator with gas cans. If they put gas in it before time runs out they get more time. Team special infected needs to prevent it. I was a little bit sceptic about L4D2 in the beginning because I expected it to be more like L4D, more like an addon. Well, in my opinion it isn't. This is just a whole new game with the same theme of L4D. I think this brings you a new gaming experience compared to L4D. The demo was nice to play but imho it didn't give the whole experience feeling the release did give to me.
ok thx that's what i wanted to hear (so they made a 4v4 system mucho's grandes) maybe something for next month (my birthday next week so hehe)
so i finally decide to type in a big bunch of text, and it was all for nothing.. hehe.. i am better at hosting stuff.
I really hope you're going to get it, bucket! It's really great! The campaigns The campaigns are lot more different from each other (one plays in a swamp while the other sets off on fairgrounds) and feels more connected to each other if you play them chronically and more story-wise. You can find a lot more wall writing throughout the campaigns, so it's not only in the safehouse. The campaigns also feel a little bit longer than in l4d1(after the first chapter of swamp fever, I was really like...wow this was only one chapter!?) Realism I've played Realism for a while and it's quite fun, its basically playing the campaign with some tweaks. you can't see any outlines, so you really have to stick together, because if someone got jockeyed away or tongued, you really got to look for him. Finding someone who got incapped by a tank is quite harder as well! You also can't come back in closets, which mean Defibs are a lot more usefull.(you do respawn back in the safehouse in the next chapter) And ofcourse zombies take more damage,( on expert it can take 2 shotgun shells in their body and they're still alive :| ) so "AIM FOR THE HEAD!" is a quite nice tip. Scavenge I've found scavenge quite addictive, good strategies and teamwork really helps a lot to bringing the battle to victory!
Khadgar, realism is different in the way you dont see your teammates outlined or with names, and you only see weapons or items outined wen you are right in front of them. This means its simply more realistic in the sense that the computer doesnt help you. You can still choose difficulty which decides the usual, like damage dealt by zombies and friendly fire, number of special infected, etc. So you can do realism and still take on a hoorde on your own with a machete (provided theres no special infected like the hunter). Its fun, but I would really like to try and have a serious run on expert with some good friends. Because HELL expert is tough, expert is realism in the sense of damage. So for REAL realism, play expert on realism, thats as close as you can get.
You forgetting that you can't respawn in closets, which I already stated in my post, which is a very important thingy, since 1. defibs are a lot more valuable and 2. you really don't want to NOT shoot your teammates, because one these days... He'll turn dead and never come back....except if you got a defib or being in the next safehouse
I missed your post jer, sorry :S Also I missed the point of zombies taking more realistic damage, that is to say headshots kill but armshots dont
Yea. I bought it now, now it is just downloading. It is 24% right now. Edit: By now i have played good amount of time, and i must say it is a really good game.
ffs i got the game via steam (online) now the stupid piece off shit won't work goddamn friggin piece off crap god i HATE STEAM damn shitty ass crapprogram!!!
This is why Im not so into new pc games! Like cod waw I dont get it to work on my main system only on my wifes pc they are both vista so don't start. Getting a windows 7 soon and some other crap hope the waw works on it cos I havent playd the single campaign yet cos wifes computer is just not the same as mine.
Body count is now up to 4 (along Lethal-Zoners I know). The L4D2 update of 21-11-2009 really fucked up some systems. 3 of the victems use Windows 7 x64 but so do I and it works fine here. And so for other Win7x64 users. All victems do have something in common, issues with their Steam Client Service which didn't start. Fixing the service however does not solve the problem. Have tried loads of things with Ericjuh and Johnny_Blaze but so far no luck. Yesterday Johnny_Blaze managed to get L4D2 working based on the files of my installation that were changed the 21st but after a short time his game crashed to Windows. Valve clearly made an error in their last update but so far, no fix yet. Some related topics are: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1038956 http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1002950 Yesterday we could not find a solution... maybe today?
You can't find any solution.. i'm sure! maybe a quickfix to let use play l4d2 when steam released a patch. Steam i knowing about this problem for 5 days now and still they can't find any solution. I think some files need to be signed by steam and your pc in order to play proper. I think there is the problem with this bug. If i use files from another pc it continue the installation, but crashes after the movie (not proper signed files). Beside the "incomplete installation (#)" error - we also have a memory leak in steam. After the message you steam will eat more and more memory until it has enough and crash. Not only l4d2 users have this problem, but also COD MW2 users have this. The bug is crappy - and even more crappy if dome, khad, plop, etc will get the guardian gnome achievement without me playing.
valve keeps anoying me damn ignorent pricks... every time i have a problem they just FAIL to give some proper help... GOD how i want to punch those Friggin asshats in the face and kick them in the groin stupid moronic idiots!!!! this is how valve fixesproblems they know about it but simply just don't care. i'm realy getting sick of this attitude from valve -> realy pissed off right now
Don't worry Ericjuh, we're still waiting for you to carry the damn Gnome  Spoiler If it does not take TO long, we wait for you Pissed off? Really? I can understand its friggin annoying and frustrating but I am sure Valve is doing what they can but its a difficult problem because its no easy to see where it goes wrong I guess. I can't see any commonality other than the update of 21-11-2009 messed it all up. The fact that we are 4 days further and still no solution says a lot I am afraid.
That gnome achievement is best fun I have had in a while. They way it keeps on looking at you is just awesome.
Bucket, goed nieuws.
