Dont pretend that you dont have a smile on your face when you know that you dont have to move the mouse and time your click.
I don't, it's just much more satisfying to headshot a scout while he's jumping around than a (almost not moving-) heavy.
It works on every server for me. I had to put some things in my autoexec for it though. Code: play "quake3.wav" tf_dingalingaling "1" tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg "80" tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg "130" tf_dingaling_volume "0.75" tf_dingaling_wav_override "quake3.wav" But I think you only need the play xxx.wav en the override.
okay, I'm going to do that into my autoexec.. see if it works then. EDIT* It worked! thank you very very much! Ontopic: heavies are evil. for some reason they're very agressive in upward..never really seen so much heavies in one map. :|
I can never get custom hitsounds to work properly, It works for the first map i play but whenever a map changes i dont get any sound when i hit someone and the only way i know to fix it is to restart the game.
Do you have the play xxx.wav in your autoexec? If I am not mistaken that cache's the sound and should fix your problem.
Yes i do this is what ive got in the file Code: play "quake3.wav" tf_dingalingaling "1" tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg "65" tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg "135" tf_dingaling_volume "0.75" tf_dingaling_wav_override "quake3.wav"
Do you hear the sound when you start up TF2? And is the sound in the tf/sounds folder and correctly name? With caps etc. Also how do you join your game? If you join via a friend whilst outside the game or via the steam browser it sometimes doesn't work. It should 100% work while joining a server via the ingame browser.
Maybe try putting "play quake3.wav" after the settings codes. So like this: Code: tf_dingalingaling "1" tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg "65" tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg "135" tf_dingaling_volume "0.75" tf_dingaling_wav_override "quake3.wav" play "quake3.wav" Dunno if that helps, but you could try And +1 to pim, if you join a server through steam (when not launched tf2 yet) it never works, you have to start up TF2 first and after that join a server.
I load tf2 before choosing a server to play on and yes i do hear the sound when tf2 loads. The file name is all in lower case changeing it to caps wont do anything will it? Ive tried that and didnt work.
Changing it to caps won't do anything, but what I meant is that the filename is quake3.wav and not Quake3.wav for example. You could try renaming the file and updating your autoexec, for some reason my q3.wav didn't work but quake3.wav did.
