So you want to use a middleman but you are unsure of what it is and how one is used. Here is a description for those who want to know what a middleman is and why one is used and here's also a guide on how things usually goes.

    What's a middleman?
A middleman is a guy who holds on to items during the trade. For example if you want to trade items for a game that comes as a code then you would first give the items to the middleman, then you would get the code and when it's confirmed that the code is valid the middleman gives the items to the other trader. However there are not many middlemen who do "game code jobs", they are mostly involved in moneytrades (with the same principal as mentioned above).

Ok so if I want to use a middleman how can I know it's a real middleman and not just a scam?
There is a middleman list on SteamRep, all the ones that you find there are safe but as always make sure that the one you are talking with us who he claims to be. You can check out people on SteamRep using their steamID or custom URL. Also, same principal goes here as anywhere else, low playtime, new account, only a few games and private/friends only profile usually means that you are dealing with a scammer or impersonator or something like that.

    How does the procedure work?
Both trades agrees what middleman to use, then when both trades have the middleman in their friendlist they start a group chat. The middleman usually throws in a line that you will have to check him out that he really is who he claims to be and that you also have to confirm that you have checked. When that all is done the deal gets written in the group chat by one of the traders and then the other trader confirms that that's really the deal. Now if one is supposed to buy items for money then the items are traded to the middleman, the middleman then confirms that he has the items and that means that tne money can be sent. When the one who recieves the money confirms that he has got it the middleman trades the items to the other trader.
Side note: Middlemen are free however it's always nice if you throw them some sweets after the trade. Afterall you are getting a safer trade and the middleman isn't really just sitting there and waiting for you, he has other things to do as well.

What if I want to be a middleman?
Well if you want to become a middleman then make sure that you don't trade with scammers, don't shark, try to help others as much as you can, start a rep thread and most of all you should know all or at least most of the shitty tricks in the book and what and how to retaliate. Also, don't even bother to try if you are new to trading or don't have any rep what so ever. The rep on ones profile can easily be faked so it means nothing.

    Important: For the middleman
    - Check both traders on SteamRep
    - Get the deal confirmed by both traders
    - Get everything in one chat window (group chat)
    - Take screenshots of the chat if you want to be a bit more safer
    - You have the right to decline the job
    - You are the one who should send the trade request to the one who is receiving the items in the end

    Important: For the traders
    - Look for a trustworthy middleman and not just some random guy
    - Check that the middleman is who he claims to be
    - Check the other trader on SteamRep
    - The middleman can decline the job if he feels that something is off/odd
    - Take screenshots of the chat if you want to be a bit more safer
    - You have to double check that you are really trading with the middleman that you are supposed to "use"

    Middlemen from LZ
Currently there are a few here in Lethal-Zone.eu who can be a middleman for you, however in theory anyone can be but these can at least be trusted.

Add 1 important rule: the one HOLDING the items at any time in the MM trade, must initiate the trade request to the receiver for those items.

if the seller receives a request to trade, he must cancel and double check he has the right person. If the MM has the items, and receives a request to trade, idem.
