Calling somekind of music bs isn't even close of being as disrespectful as saying that somekind of music isn't even music. But that's enough off-topic in one topic
I don't get it ... how can anyone be "disrespectful" about music? that sounds so serious  . music (or "non-music" ) is sth so individual, i don't think you can make a real discussion about it. Of course arguing about taste/perceptions is fun (because it goes on and on indefinitely ), but tbh i couldn't care less if someone thinks that my favourite music is shit , or how the word "music" is defined. i just enjoy listening to those sounds or noises or whatever. or sometimes i don't, because occasionally i like music that makes me feel down
I don't judge people on what they listen to. You should listen to what ever make you feel happy, or on Marmot's case sad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Interp ... n_of_Music
oeoeoe, Then you will be dissapointed to hear that a lot , i mean a lot of todays metal is edited in such extremes ways, that all sounds of for instance the drums are replaced by samples, i.e. computersounds. Heck even programming is used to tighten that up. In live settings those drummers play like pussies just to have fast speed, triggering all drums with electronic sounds to sound heavy while they hit the drums like total whimps ( yeah a drummer speaking here) hurray for strapping young lad and slayer All music is fine, some music you like, some you don't. Whatever. I'm fine with any music as long as they don't shove it up my throat to swallow unvoluntarily
I'm aware of triggers and stuff like that. I was really dissapointed to hear that even George Kollias of Nile uses them as he's considered to be one the greatest metal drummers but hey, at least they do something it's not all machines and twisting buttons I'm not against music that just uses electronic sounds and stuff like that as effects (post-rock anyone? God is an astronaut, Pelican, Sunn O))) etc.) since that gives the music some new nice ways but you can't call it electronic music because most of it is non-elecronic.
The only place where they think come in useful is for kickdrums. To be able to cut through the walls of guitar in very heavy metal you need lot's of attack which you almost cannot achieve with an acoustic bassdrum in live settings.
