New FF2 Bosses

    Is it easy to implement/Edit a boss in FF2/VSH? Or does it require azian-level scripting?

    FF2: the cfgs look horrible, but once you work out what the values for each ability mean, it becomes childs play
    VSH: tis all hardcoded into the plugin, no cfgs to mess with :(

    so some engie and me were last 2 guys on ff when Chucky was hale. And he used his pistol which 1 shotted our sentrys. As I looked at his equipment I knew why. He had +800% dmg on it.
    Hope this will get a change asap...

    The most new bosses have like 200-800% bonus dmg, even on the meeles, why you can be 1 hitted as a heavy, even if a medic is healing you (450 hp). but it wouldnt be a good idea to complettly Remove the bonus dmg, because than they need as much hits as if u would be a normal class, means u would need more than 5 hits to kill one, but it should be ok if the bosses would become as similiar damage bonus like saxton hale, vagineer etc, but i think that the Heavy bosses should get a littlebit less + dmg, since heavys make more meele dmg than soldiers/engineers etc ^^
    but yeah, atm we dont have a person who edits it, i might give it a look, who knows c:

    its not hard, just gotta remove one of the weapon attributes

    So back to this topic too..

    what i can do is upload all the cfg's (damage and all) for all the characters.. then you can play with it (perhaps your own test server?) and then i can feed it into the server

    All the zip files are everything for the bosses.

    The ones that xian tweaked in the past are still in there in the bosses.tar.gz

    Just tried a few round with the new bosses and some seem broken :?

    I could play as the alien and god it was awefull : no indication or anything about the boss abilities (i've seen some player shooting a green ray but couldn't find how to do it), superjump send you to skybox with high speed each time and i don't know what the rage was supposed to do since the only thing i saw was some player around being scared...and that's it, no scream or music, only player scared suddently :?
    Also, having 2 bosses at the same time is a great idea, but make them 2 scouts (super jump + doublejump + high speed) and a rage that scare ALL the players on the map is OP IMO, that's what Abe & Munch from Oddworld is :? (they might not be 2 scouts since Munch seemed to be slower but i couldn't really see it as we died pretty fast)
    Also, apparently, Chucky and The fly are exactly the same boss, they only have a different skin.

    Maybe the 9 selected players should be chosen at random or the last 9 players on the queue list so you don't lose much to any points at all.

    are good ideas, but its not possible i think to make that, ive looked already at the script of the zombie hord, i could maybe turn the dmg up, or make just 1 boss, who spawns zombie minions, but i first still need to get more known to that damn code, aint even propperly able to install ff2 :p

    and because there are like No ff2 tutorials, its kind of hard :/ maybe some vsh tutorials are similiar, will search some of them later :p

    would be far easier to do the second of the two things u suggested (make a zombie summoning boss) as:
    [1] the ff2 base plugin code is a mess
    [2] implementing the zombie horde would mean changing a sizable chunk of the base plugin in order to maintain some kind of balance
    [3] the zombie horde idea sounds a lot like ZombieFortress, just with amped HP and the timer replaced with an Arena player counter

    Ofc. I think they don't fit to TF2, I would understand TF2 related and famous character (those which aren't that different to TF2) bosses but these? They are just too different compared to the game, they ruin that good TF2, FF2, VSH feeling.

    i think this is more a matter of opinion. there are quite some lads who like a bit of a change, some new bosses with other special powers brings variation and makes it less dull of the same bosses over and over again. we also have an vsh server if you want the tf2 related bosses ;)

    hmm, I miss a "Tux" Freak, ofc with a iPad with buntu on it...
