This man is nuts indeed, it has been speculated that he is in the hospital but braindead. Deaths are up to 5 now, and I believe 4 people left in critical conditions, that being brain or skull damage, and about 8 minor injuries being broken bones and stuff. 3 of these victims are children, in the 2nd press conference they were said to be part of the serverely injured. Childrens ages are 16, 15 and 9. I know I shoot zombies and mow scouts down, but just looking at those videos really REALLY touches you. Every sane person istouched I think. I heard it is also all over the news in Germany, US, pretty much everywhere. This is a horrible thing to happen on one of Holland's unique national celebrations. We are the only country in the WORLD to have Queen's day, and I've been happily celebrating it for my whole life. I would hate to have all these festivities to be cancelled in the future because of this moron. If so want to have a serious attack at the royal family, you can and will be able tio no matter how good you put up security. Someones could steal (or own) a small aircraft and fly it into them. You could sneak into a building, and snipe em out. you can ride through with an A1 Hummer full of C4. You can be in the crowd with a homemade molotov. You can build a level 3 sentry gun around the corner. You can't defend everyone from everything. Let's just hope it stays with this, and that no more people die from their injuries.
IF he makes it, and he gets a trial, he will be charged with: (I'm gonna say it in dutch and let some one who is better in english translate it  ) -Dood door schuld 5x (zover) -Vernieling van een monument -Aanval op de koninglijke familie IF he has got a mental sicknis this all will give him about 8 years (means 5 years of actual prison) and then a place for mental sick people... if he hasn't have a mental sickniss then it's prob not more than 15 years(that is maybe a bit to high already) wich mean 10 years of actual prison and and TBS(again some one else have to translate). if they find out that he planned this for atleast several days then it's all considerd as murder, what means he'll get 20-28 years I don't know what you guys think but I'd say lock him up for the rest of his life! the dutch law system is for pussies! people kill somebody in a rush and they get 1 year of actual prison I really really think we need thougher charges....
Our maximum sentence here in Finland is 14 years I guess...first timers usually get a year or two of parole no matter what they did (double/triple/etc. murder is an exception..that means often 1-7 years in a luxurious jail). If something like this happens in the US it's either life in jail or death row (depending on the state laws). Fuckers like him deserve the US style rather than the European wankery.
Harder/softer penalties don't change the amount of criminals to any direction (well maybe a little but not significantly). Those ppl who argue about death sentences and for example 100x life sentences (in the US everything is possible ) and keep on saying that the amount of criminals doesn't go down are missing the thing that is #1 point for me: hard sentences are there to punish the wrongdoers, not to show others what might happen to them. Criminals deserve to be punished and they should suffer the causes of what they've done. Cruel or not but this statement is something I stand behind 100%.
like in some country where a guy threw some toxic shit over a woman's face causing her to be blind .. his sentence was the exact same thing . eye for an eye ...
In the us the new dna tecnics has proven allready electricuted peeps inocent now tell me how to make that right? Enyways I think peeps that deserve to die if they get the electric chair they get away to easy lock em up for life and no luxory cells whith own tv and shit as ive seen here in finland.
Now that's the second thing that ppl arguing against death sentences ALWAYS use. Don't blame the system if the people using it don't do their job well enough. The problem isn't in the death penalty, it's in the too low resources of police and investigators: they don't have enough time, enough workers nor enough time to do their jobs thoroughly (giving murder investigation a timeline when the case must be solved is maybe the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard). Also the new DNA technology that you mentioned is 99,9% of time telling the truth: these incidents are not likely to happen anymore and those who got away years ago are now doing their jail time. How would it be better if those innocent ones who got executed were in prison or on parole and then freed when the DNA tells the truth and the real bad guy goes to prison? You would've already lost maybe 5-20 years of your life and you would be a marked man for the rest of your life even though you've been declared innocent.
Are you telling me that u rather die than lose a period of your life get a shit load of money from goverment and retire in havaijii for rest of life? 20 years ago I was a big beliver in death penalty I dunno when I started thinking difrent. Usualy there is a reason why peeps doo crasy stuff. Theyr parents abused them as little ore some other shit. Often these criminals are retarted in to some level and they dunno whats right ore wrong.
Double Agent, don't push it. You're out of line with that one. Your reply is deleted. I expect more behaviour from you as an english teacher.
Saw it and started to count the drinks I have had sins I came from work could not belive ma eyes. aija baija gör inte om det.
Arbitrary censorship is objectionable. Nevertheless, accept my paltry excuse, for I have sinned. On a divergent note, I am pleased with your moderation. The post was instantly abolished.
Yes If I'm innocent and have to spend years and years in prison I would rather die. The main reason I already mentioned in my earlier post. And for the money part. If you are proven innocent and get out of jail you don't get a dollar. You are thrown out of jail with no money, no home, no family, no friends, no job and no possible jobs since you're a marked man. You will have nothing and that usually drives people into suicide...imo it's "better" to die innocent than die years later after suffering a miserable so called "life". But I don't think this is a good topic for this kind of a discussion. Thus I will end my part of this argument here. Don't know what Double Agent wrote but I guess I don't even want to :|
can't believe you really mean that... those things you can get back. your life you'll never "get back". many people have a life that most of us would think "sucks", but still they don't just throw it in the bin. a lot of shitty things happen by chance and you just have to make the best of it anyway. To go as far as saying you'd rather choose nothingness than a "miserable life"... really don't understand that :?
In my opinion Nasher is completely right. When a man has been innocently electrocuted, the mistake is always searched in death penalty. That is wrong. It was the right system who trialed him in a wrong way, so he wouldn't get a punishment in the first place.
Maybe true, but I think mistakes will always be made, and death is a serious and irriversable thing. And would you agree to rather dieing than spending a few years in prison innocently? I know I wont
