That is what I ment :p Put another 7" ontop of what you have xD

Also zippy, cant remember where you said you live (knutsford way?) but if it is around there, also look at:

    http://overclockers.co.uk/

They are more expensive, but if your willing to drive to stoke way you can pick it up so no p&p

According to Google Maps Knutsford it 50 miles away from Hebden Bridge. Go to Google Maps to see my town. But yeah honestly 7 inches is nothing. It's already as tall as my monitor.

I've been getting a hell of a lot of recommendations for the GTX460 anyway.

    This is sexy: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-092-MS

IF you go for an MSI, go for the Twin Frozr edition, it's faster and it has godlike OC capabilities

Think it'd be best for me to go for an i7 (Link) over the i5 (Link), as it's only £40 extra. New specs:

    Mobo: Link
    CPU: Link
    GPU: Link
    RAM: Link
    HDD: Link
    PSU: Link
    Cooling: Link
    Case: Link

The only part I don't understand AT ALL is the motherboards. What should I be looking for in a mobo?

That processor will not fit the mobo

The mobo you linked has 1156 pins on it, the processor needs a mbob that has 1366 pins.

    Your talking another £50 - £70 for a decnt I7 mobo.

I7 CPU's have a triple channel memory controller, which means you need RAM in mutiples of 3. 3Gb is crap, and 6GB of RAM would be an extra £50, if you want to spend another £150 plus going I7, then i can link you some specs, but i dont think you have this in your budget <_<

EDIT: as per your request here be the links:

    mobo: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/Asus-P6X ... A-RAID-ATX

    £148.25

    RAM: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/plus-6GB ... -9-24-165V

    £104.72

    RAM: Link
    HDD: Link
    PSU: Link
    Case: Link
    Cooling: Link

As it stands everything in that pc would be the same, or better than mine (bar the graphics card)

i7's are a bit overkill really. I have

    AMD Phenom 955
    Nvidia GTX 260

They both do the job and then some.

It's not to bad, I picked up a Athlon Phenom II (6 core) $199.00 and Asus 5830 for around $249.99. I'd recommend both.

Seen as I haven't been able to get the money I needed I was wondering what the best card I could get on this motherboard is:

Edit: Actually, make that two small fans. Images:

If you have a 16 lane PCI-E slot in your mobo, which that screenshot says you do then you can run any GPU you like in it, looking at the case though im doubting you could fit one in, and if you could then it would probably overheat.

Think the same. However, with a card like this:
    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/29112-sapphire-radeon-hd-5850-1gb-toxic-edition-review.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/ha ... eview.html</a>

You might not experience overheating. Sapphire VAPOR-X technology is an extreme good cooling technique.

Yeah I think Kittens linked me to that review a while back and I was stunned at the low heat it gave off. But considering that's likely in a well ventilated case I reckon mine would be a bit hotter.

    Very tempting though indeed.

For an extra £40 would it be worth getting the 2GB version?

    1GB Toxic 5850

    2GB Toxic 5850

Also, if I were to build a new PC, would it just be easier to keep my current motherboard then, or would it limit what CPU I can put on it or bottleneck my PC?

the temps from any good reviewer are measured by a laser pointer, pointed at the card. Driver temps are off up to 10 degrees.
