Bwoah, sometimes i am busy on the servers and i do "too much" but the rocket jump and saxton #2 are indeed on the same box.

Regardless we just upgraded this box, it is now one of the fastest hexacore cpu's with 64gb ram and all the servers are on SSD disks with 1gbit network card.

So when you notice hickups i would usually is now:

    1. I am busy and it wasn't smart to move 200gb while we have players on it.
    2. There was a network hickup

Because cpu/hardware/memory wise it should not pose a big issue.

ok now it's just ridiculous, players reportedly have serious laggs on the server, like all of them. Even players who have less than 50 ping. and it really deteriorates the gaming experience... it really feels like my ping is over 9000

also roughyl half of the players have item louadout and the other holf doesn't

Loosing loadout usually is a VALVE/STEAM issue, get this in your heads guys!

And if the SERVER loosing connection with steam/loadout it will recover automaticly, but it will not be instant. If and when it loosing the connection it can be happening together with major lag spikes because of the disconnect and all the clients freaking out.

Note, having tons of servers on 1 box, 250 people playing on it and valve screws up the loadout... = 250x recurring connectings all trying to ask for the same thing = lag.

This is a issue on valve end, since this box is majorly overpowered now with 64gb memory and a freaking gigabit connection.

As a side note, AM1 is different server then saxton so then it most certainly is a issue from valve.

If the ISP is the problem it should show in statistics or something like that. Easiest is to just ping the box, that should still be quick if its a valve issue.

98% of the time its not our hardware that is to blaim. I wish i had a buck for every person that complained about lag and it wasn't a server issue. I would be rich by now.

Getting a bit tired of the people that always complain about how bad it is. You know whats bad? Trying to keep it up and running and then only hear complaints about lag that i cant do much about.

Please "report" these issues in a normal matter and think from our side too, we do our best.

I can understand you, Snel. I played on other servers, too and when there were lags the players all complained about it. Well the end of the case was that the server owner kicked all these players who complained...
Next point to say it´s NOT Snel´s fault is the hit detection. I always see players complaining about the "200 feet" Fists of Saxton Hale. I wish the players would get this in their heads that it is Valves´ fault...

That's a completely different issue. The source engine was not designed for players moving at such high speeds as Hale does, resulting in the lag compensation glitching out.

merci, thats all i wanted to hear. i think on average we have a uptime of more then 98% a year. Not counting lags and glitches, it could go down to 95%, but for a community this is very high.

Some issues took me months to solve, like for instance the "stuck in spectator mode" in all maps servers, or the "more warping then usual" on some server because of a silly setting. Or the "woops we have 45.000 sprays on the server, so each time a user connects it goes to all of them to check if its there = lag on connect new player" these recurring things are something else.

if you find anything that you can reproduce then this should be fixed/investigated. We still have a issue with the limit of classes on all maps, but that is not the end of the world.

    So..

What i see these days is that both servers fill up, and then make a jump. 1 server becomes full towards 30 and the other only has 10 players on it.

Because we have 2 servers with 30 , people tend to move to the server thats the fullest rather then dividing (even though they are both the same) also because of this, there would be no need to get reserved slots in the future. Having the server always full creates a bigger "i want to be on it" experience because you simply cant get on it because its full.

    Anyways, perhaps 26 is better..

But, this is just *MY* opinion, i want to hear it from others, if they feel this is not the case perhaps.. because i am not 24/7 around.

Well this morning I saw something really really really really x10000 times abnormal: On the AM1 server were 0 Player and on the AM2 server were 32 player! I just thought myself "WTF????"
Edit: Checked 15minutes after and it was same, so it wasn´t because the server had been down or something..

I think you mean 24 and not 32? Yesterday around 5 PM AM2 was full (24 players) and AM1 was empty strange enough, so I filled AM1 :D
Anyways to answers snelvuur's question, I'm not there as often but I do think 26 is better aswell.

Its nice with 32 players, hale gets more health and the rounds are longer and more enjoyable. It also means u can have a mix of all character classes in there so it ends up being a good and fun fight.
