According to TF2wiki a Headshot does around 100 damage - a minicrit did only like ~50. It does make sense since trying to headshot someone in pointblank range was pretty senseless, because a Minicrit and a Point blank shot did the same amount of damage. Only time will tell... oddly enough they still didn't fix that the Ambassador can shoot through gates or they just didn't mention it since it's supposed to be fixed since the last update.
Bah they didn't fic the fact that when you kill a jarated enemy with snipers kukri, you don't get the kill in your stats. And btw I think this is only good thing with the uptate. No sense using it if normal revolver deals the dmg regulary whereas embassador does it only with HS.
Anyway I dont think the ambassador is OP, just because they made it a full crit doesnt mean its automaticly OP. I only just got it last night around 2 AM so I havent had all that long to try it out, but from what I've experienced, shooting a sniper with a minicrit and then twice more, he was only just below half of his health. So I'm gonna try that again now, snipers fear me! *runs off to play TF2after seeing the download is now complete*
Well, i've seen spies just running around shooting with the ambassador like they were rambo themselves, without trying to disguise, backstab or run away at all. I found that quite disturbing actually..
I've been seeing the same before this patch or before the update as well. I might not be a leet spy, but I dont manage to get all that many headshots if any. If you shoot multiple rounds in a row, your gun will become inaccurate anyway. So then you would be more rambo with the revolver since it does more damage. There probably are some people who can shoot headshots everytime, but if they do walking around like rambo is justified imo.
I thought the ambassador had some sort of autoaim which makes the shooting easier. Or am I misinformed? Maybe activate the new server cvar which disables the wait command and with that a lot of spy scripts.
crit headshot is instant kill for anyone (perhaps exception of heavy) spy's are bad now.. if you are a engie, he could just wait for that perfect moment to sap/kill you.. (this means mostly when the sentry is under attack and the engie start hitting it, that would be the perfect time to strike) with that watch you can just sit there for infinity.
you could always stab and sap, even before the update. If you sit on top of the dispenser you can also remain invisible.
Ok this f-ing does it. A friend of mine just recieved 30! items in a 10 minute timespan. 15 items, 15 hats. This is happening on a lot more servers. Way to go Valve. The ambassador used the flame hitboxes first, meaning bigger hitboxes. Got fixed. Please don't disable wait command, it crashes my game when I use scripts to tell uber, sapping etc.
Happened on the LZ server too just now, new hat+item every 2 minutes.. And all that while I keep getting flare guns, more flare guns and sometimes even a flare gun!
