its only needed to login the steam account on the mac, then START the game, without joining a server. when the guy then logs on on his PC he will get the drop. menu = fugly yes, there are already a bunch of mods made. I'm busy with my own one.
some little changes: Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include: Engine Fixed a crash related to model caches. Fixed a crash related to empty proxy files. Fixed a rare crash involving corrupted voice-comm playback. Team Fortress 2 Fixed some issues with the community submitted tips. Fixed a case where servers could get stuck in an infinite loop while spawning bots. Made the training HUD code more robust, so it doesn’t crash if the client has modified HUD resource files. Fixed a potential crash in the HUD during startup. Fixed a level change crash related to Bot navigation meshes. Disabled quickswitch UI in training to reduce confusion. The Demoman's battleaxe now sounds like a sword. Missed a note from yesterday: The Eyelander now collects the heads inside Eyelanders of Demomen it decapitates. P.S. I don't get why so many people at the steam forums are whining about the headphones, they are the last thing I'd wear ingame. ^^
On principle. I'm not saying I agree with them but I can see where they're coming from. They've been playing for ages and now a new group of players joins and gets an item just because they're playing on a Mac? Stupid idea. There's also the fact that any model submitted to Valve has to fit the retro 60's style of TF2. Last time I check, bright white slick UFO-like design earplugs didn't fit a retro 60's style.
Oh my god, iPods came from outer space! :O *dum dum duuuuhh duuuuuuum!* people usually rages on the items they can't get without buying (preordering games etc) getting silver instead of gold(those anniversary medals or not getting a soldier medal) or for using a certain platform (the earbuds). It's a bit childish to whine about some cosmetic stuff
How is this any different to people getting medals and he who was 1 days later getting another medal or no medal? We should embrace the fact that Valve welcomes new large players groups or awards certain large player groups with possible non-game-based items. Atleast they put effort into creating and adding something. Name 2 more games that have done the same. People should stop whining and be thankful for what they get. Those who bought the game ages ago have gotten a lot more allready then those who just bought it on mac. If you look at the 119 updates that Valve has brought for TF2 over the past few years...If it were blizzard, you'd have paid for 2 expansions allready.
Everyone got a medal, we don't get zune earbuds or something windows related. It's only logical that those that own something longer get more, or are better at performing said task. Most of the time it works like that in real world too with promotions / payment and stuff. Yes I like the fact that we get a lot of free extra's, however I would rather see them tested and implemented good instantly (community stuff). I am not mad at Valve, I would never wear it anyway. I wouldn't mind having the option to do so though. I just think Valve is rushing stuff lately to keep buzz around TF2, and contradicting their own statements (unlocks have to fit 60's style). I'd rather seen them give the heavy an apple skin for his sandvich then this. And IIRC Valve stated that white was a color ONLY used for medic's so people could find moving white spots in an instant. I haven't seen anyone with those earbuds yet, but I can imagine that they have thrown that idea out of the window too.
I have to agree with that the earbuds look completely misplaced ingame. However, I still don't get why people complain about them. It is, as Pim said, like in real life. You just can't get every single item.
tbh, you'd only say that they are misplaced if you don't have them. putting em on in-game actually looks pretty fun and i just love my elvis heavy with his earbuds in
Might be, but I can't imagine myself runnig around as a soldier with some white earbuds in my ears. But heh, I don't have 'em, you do, you think they look cool, I think they look stupid, so everyone is happy.
@pim i have my car for 3 years, but the people that buy it now get options for free. Why didn't i get stuff for free after 3 years? I owned it longer? New buyers get stuff, older don't or you pay monthly fees like cellphone companys who give stuff to make you stay with em. That's the way the world works. People who pay money get stuff, people who don't pay anymore get nothing. And we are still getting updates for free...
your right! we can be glad that valve isnt sutch an antfucker as those guys there from call of duty who let you pay to lay more maps and stuff
