Does anyone knows the specifics on that? Yesterday i saw a heavy calling me: "Follow me doctor". What response is that?
Isn't that Go Go Go whilst healed? Pretty sure I have heard that before the update too. It's still listed as one of the unused voice commands on the wiki though. http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Heavy_responses On a side note 1 Scrap Metal + Ambassador = Southern Hospitality (Community Wrench)
allready crafted one and 5 minuits later i got a second one and yet an hour later got one again hahahaha
Aim your crosshair at the Medic and then press E to call him. "It's team time doctor!" This is just awesome, now if they add the melee dare sound commands then I'll be completely happy.
Might be the "Go, Go, Go!" command if healed by a medic, but I'm not sure. Edit: Completely missed Pim's post.
Frontier Justice is a nicely balanced weapon, as is the Gunslinger. Wrangler is retarded and needs a nerf. The Wrangler forces the enemy to flank him, but since not using the Wrangler leaves the same old AI controlled Sentry flanking is not possible. Add that to a Sentry in the usual spots and you have a nigh-unkillable Sentry. Hell, a point blank Heavy can not destroy a Wrangled lvl 3 Sentry. Let me say it again: A POINT BLANK HEAVY CAN NOT DESTROY A WRANGLED LVL 3 SENTRY. The only class coming close to being able to destroy a Wrangled lvl 3 entrenched in one of the usual spots is a Demo and even he is barely able to do so, having to use 7 Stickies. That is not counting on the Engineer shooting the Stickies or juggling the Demo or a teammate coming by making it a 2v2 situation. Killing the Engineer isn't as easy as it sounds either since he has full mobility and can get as far away from the Sentry as he wants. And this is all assuming a 2v1 situation. Add a 2nd Engineer (2nd Sentry optional) to it and I guarantee you it will not go down without a significant numbers advantage and an uber assuming the Engineers aren't stupid. The Wrangler is completely fine on the lvl 1 Sentries and minisentries, and probably fine on the lvl 2 Sentries as well but it's absolutely retarded on lvl 3 Sentries.
Whilst I have not yet played, I can understand your point, and if it works out that way, it's a blatant upgrade. If the sentry wouldn't be AI controlled it would be more balanced.
You can get as far away from the Sentry as you want, you can shoot as far as you want and it doubles the rate of fire. Repeat after me: 256dps lightning gun with 648HP and unlimited range. Oh, and did I mention you can fire the rockets whenever you want (ofcourse limited by the rate of fire)? (that last part is sick, I've made airshots with them already) It's absolutely hilarious on maps with long sightlines especially since you can build a lvl 3 Sentry at your spawn, pack it up, deply it somewhere else and it will be fully deployed and operation in 5 seconds if you keep wrenching it. After that, go to town with your new toy.
You and me both now that Valve will not delete the weapon, also it won't be nerfed to hell like the Sandman since the most heard suggestions on the Engineer update where a human controlled sentry gun. There are only 2 things to do here imo: Don't make it AI controlled. Don't make it upgradable. However the second one won't be chosen since there already is a non-upgradeable sentry gun. Now instead of raging, what would you propose as a solution.
I already have, though not here. - Shield disappears immediately when the Sentry goes inactive. He's supposed to be vulnerable during that time, yet he's still on a ridiculous health level due to the Shield. - Shield scales with Sentry level. 100% shield on a lvl1/minisentry, something like 50% on a lvl2 and 0% on a lvl3. Defensive lvl 3 Sentries are and always have been major roadblocks with teamwork, very tough to get rid of. You can choose between firing back at people trying to outrange it but be vulnerable or leave it as is.
You mean it doesn't? What's up with that, reading the description I thought the shield was only active when you have the scrambler out. Lame.
less health of the sentry gun? I mean, you can't shoot and repair at the same time, so if it gets less health, it will be easier to take it out. Heck just get rid of half the hp!
don't forget the spies. if a spy manage to backstab the engineer, then the sentry is pretty much doomed due his inactive state. just like headshotting snipers etc. the priority lies on a different case as a non-using wrangler. where in a non-using wranger engi you focus on the sentry. but a wrangler using engi you focus more on the engineer. if the engineer using a wrangler dies, then he leaves his sentry in a VERY vulnerable state. which could be totally spammed with stickies, spies, rockets, snipers, heavies etc etc. As an engi your sight is focused on the enemies, mostly from the front. = easily easy target for spies. non using wranglers has their eyes focused on his base, watching out for spies, making sure their sentry stays alive. as wrangler using you can't repair your sentry unless you want to have your sentry in a temporary vulnerable state and you as well. (<- better chance to defeat the engi and his sentry since he's more focused on building instead of stickies...kill the engineer, save your team)
That is one big fucking IF. An aware Engi will almost never die to a Spy. If there's a teammate helping the Spy you have a 2v1 situation. Now try it with a 2v2 situation with a teammate helping the Engineer.
Saw a few in the last week, especially on PL Maps. For Example on pl_swiftwater @2nd CP, you can build your SG on the other end of the stage to secure the CP.
Something I didn't know and is in my opinion the key to make this weapon balanced. I thought that if you didn't had the wrangler out, the sentry would not shoot. then the shield would make sense. So the sentry gun should not be able to switch between AI controlled and hand controlled. In that way you REALLY have to choose between repairing, or attacking. making it worse against ubers, but heck that compensates. It would become for more aggressive and far less defensive. so you will see both types of sentries in the future.
Neither is viable, nor consistent, nor reliable against a well placed Sentry with an aware Engineer unless he is significantly worse than the Spy.
i have to admit, today i was suprised by a spy.. he sapped my building while i was jusing the wrangler. i must say i was a bit... confused, because i was a bit jused to the sentry being my main weapon i survived but my dear dispenser did not
