TF2 Beta / Updated for comp play?

    It only takes 1 semi-ok sniper to completly shut down a heavy, or a spy, or a sandman scout, or a FaN scout and that list goes on and on. Heavy is one of the most underpowered classes, and I don't know what pub you have been playing on, but if the pub is only semi-decent heavy is nothing short of underpowered.

    Scout are indeed a powerfull class but he is also very fragile, I do not know what class you main but if you have a shotgun class it only takes 2 shot to kill him aswell. But FaN scouts are indeed a bit overpowered right now.

    The fact that you propose a hp nerf for the Heavy is ridiculous, no-one with decent skill should have problems putting down a heavy if said class is an attack class. If you are not able then team up, it is TEAM fortress after all.

    A game is best balanced around people that know and play it alot. Since balance achieved on the highest possible level, will trinkle down to the lower levels.

    The thing that stings me alot is the fact that you state that Comp is joke. Why should I not enjoy the game with TEAMWORK and ORGANIZATION. I am not cracking on you for, apperently, being a "pub-noob"?
    But enough with this Comp vs Pub stuff, let people just enjoy what they want, I don't go calling around your hobby's and lifestyles jokes, now do I?

    so right! altough I haven't got much experience at comp play in TF2 the few time that I played it, it was going smooth and good. a total other thing than the normal pub style.
    But I like both styles. if you can play both on a regular basis I think you've got everything out of TF2

    Your solutions are all theorycrafting, in reality on a pub server with little to no organisation, more often than not stacked teams (major issue) these are wishful thinking at best and an attempt to change the game in one's personal favour at worst.

    The majority of the snipers on pubs can barely hit a stillstanding enemy's body let alone do consecutive headshots on moving enemies just to name one example. In comp play i'm sure what you say is applicable but that was pretty much my whole point comp play =/ pub play. Personally I think you can't balance the game for both unless you use separate modes.

    I also never said you can't enjoy comp play, I merely stated that competitive tf2 is inherently a joke. This game was pretty much made with just pub play in mind, doesn't take a genius to see that. The skill level in this game is ridiculously low to start with plus when you end up only using certain classes, limiting number of players you're obviously gonna need to rebalance the game to suit that. It's really no surprise these changes all negate inherent weaknesses of the classes mentioned.

    I know comp players think they know how to balance the game best, i've been there myself, but more often than not they're only looking at it from their own narrow viewpoint just like many pub players are.

    So in order to achieve "balance" we must nerf everything that takes skill, because there are only noobs in a pub? Sounds like Hello Kitty Fortress to me.

    I don't think so, and aren't we getting the itemtrade update before the soldier?
    There are still in "alpha" phase so I think it will take them a while.

    Rockit and Afterlife are still div2 aren't they?
