TF2, Rocket Jump server!

    Just checked the classes enabled are : Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Engineer and Medic. As for restricting teams; some maps are locked to red (pagoda) and others are locked to blu, others are open to both teams.

    tbh, at the moment we only have soldier and demoman maps so restricting the other classes would be fine.

    As for :
    If I see people doing this I give them a few warnings followed by a slay, they normally stop after that and let people jump without problems.

    1- I don't see adding nocliping through the enemy team as a problem, but generally it only happens when someone swaps team in order to kill and troll people, because tbh there is no advantage in being on the opposite team.

    2- Seems like a good idea, although some jumps require a damage source, generally buttons though which can be done with the shotgun.


    And, could someone fix the map nominate :), only hard maps are available at the moment, the normal jumps used to be there but not any more.

    Actually some maps have different courses for each team. Forbidding one team could remove half of the map ;( .

    I never said anything about forbidding one team, but there are 2 sides to the problem anyway:

    1- there is only 1 course for both teams, this leads to killing.
    2- people do lets say, 5 jumps and then !save, swap teams and then !tele. Here, even if the teams are split in to 2 separate courses or even 1 team just in a room, they can still get into the jump on the other team with the !tele command and kill people.

    That's why we need admins present to warn, kick and if needed ban. This will get word out that we don't allow it, and people will start calling for admins if they see it happening without an admin present.

    Woops, downloaded the update (so you cannot save in spectate) but i downloaded not the raw link (just html) that doesn't load very well.

    And I tried to load that very HTML file as a plugin. It kind of crashed the server...

    As I said b4, if someone swaps team, the saved teleport location must be cleared, so they cannot tele back to the other team.

    That is what it is like with other plug-ins but the one we use saves 30 points, unless we can get it to save 30 points for each team and differentiate between them, making it clear saved points kind of defeats the purpose of letting you save 30.

    eg. I'm on jump 15 of 20 lets say, someone is stuck at jump 3 and I decide to go and help them. So I save and then type kill in console. If they are on my team, it isn't a problem, but if they are on the other team, I have to swap teams which would wipe my saves, to help him.

    Obviously, is the saves getting cleared were the case, I could also just ask him to move team, but who knows the circumstances?

    No way! That is stupid. You'd be punishing a lot of people, simply because some retards behave badly. Nonononono! When people are in the wrong team and issues appear from it. I swap them with the TeamSwapper. This is no problem, because they can just teleport back to where they were. Your idea would screw that up as well. So no, don't wipe saves after teamswitch.

    The point is to be able to save and keep it, it saves it into the database so you can continue your jumps a week later or so. Thats the power of this one. For those few maps people choose another class, thats their issue and if someone abuses it we should just act upon it.

    I only save the first few times, after that, on a jump map I go thru all of them as part of the training to the jump I was busy with to get to it.

    Having save points is imo only for when you still want to continue from the same spot instead of doing the full jump-part over. Not to skip all between, for those form part of the excercise to redo the hard ones again so you exercise the ones you have trouble with again. Having 30 save points is imo way too much, 1 is more then enough, and that one can be wiped if you switch team.

    and if you cant jump to the place where somebody is stuck, your not the right person to advice.

    2] Mostly you do this with friends. So you're often stuck on the same place, because it takes a while to get it done. Now another friend joins too, but gets stuck and doesn't know how to get any further. You still had your save from his location, so you go help him. Or you go spectate to see what he was doing. Either way, you need multiple saves, and/or the save to stay when you switch teams.

    The upsides outweigh the downside by a very large amount, it stays, period.

    i think datastorm is just posting his look on the server, it is noted but indeed the one we have stays because a lot of people like it more then the few diehards. I like it too.. 30 is just fine, you get 30 per map, if you made the jump you can make it again. sure you can practice it again but its also fun to just make progress :)
