    Time for some hints I guess

    Game developped by Rare on the NES in 1991.
    It was ported and remade later on the Megadrive in 1993
    It's a isometric 3D plate-forme game and you can play co-op.
    It has been named one of the top games released on the NES and one of the top games released by Rare.
    It has a forgettable sequel on the Gameboy.
    The goal of the game is to climb a mountain.

    Can't put my finger on it, but I think it was Sonic & ???... I don't know the name of the second character as the last time I played a game involving Sonic was over 5 years ago...

    Eh... nobody? Well, ok. Some hints:
    - Game was made by a polish guy (game website has a .pl ending therefore)
    - Game was released in 2004 (at least that's the first patch I found, even though that was version 1.2 already)
    - Name of the game is a military rank which has the same meaning in 11 (!) languages

    If that's not enough.... welp. I don't know what else :D
