funny, this thing at least updates everytime you refresh the page. you can almost feel the demomen beeing slauthered
That new soldier rocketlauncher will be a sentry killer. I often manage to shoot 4 rockets at a sentry, but if an engineer is present i often do too little damage to destroy a level sentry in 1 time ( 4 rockets). I expect the new launcher to be more effective +1 for attacking teams ^^
seeing if valve calculates the damage to buildables best soluition run in with a pyro+uber and deepfry the motherhumperds
Blog update, weapons and achievements. Also the numbers are getting closer, who would have guessed  I don't think I would ever change my shotgun for some boost stuff, maybe on spambowl or goldspam but that's it. Achievements look doable but still challenging. Grenade tauntkill Also fucking 16 stickybombs at once?
Valve have been amazingly clever with the Demo vs Soldier war. It seems to me that there is more support for the Soldier, but this means that there are more targets for the demo's. This was always going to be a close fought war! Genius!
Lol. I actually expected a rocket jump grinding achievement à la "Rocketjump 1'000 times". But hey... looks interesting enough. The new Stickybomb Launcher is actually what I wished for. I always wanted to be able to seperately detonate my Stickies instead of just all of them at once.
It sucks, while soldier can use all 3 new weapons at the same time, demo can only use OR Scottish Resistance OR The Chargin’ Targe (OR the sticky launcher). I hope if the demo gets a 4th weapon, it replaces the pipebombs...
The story behind the Equalizer I would love to see that taunt! And the soldier would propably win in all melee fights now... And no milestones... So or making your weapon or beeing lucky enough to find a new one... Maybe when the update is released we should make a new topic here where everybody can post all the new combinations to craft new weapons and hats.
Just like the heavy is winning al melee fights now? We have yet to see how this damage thing will affect it. I think there will be milestones especially after the spy/sniper failure. Maybe they just don't show them on the page? A weapon that can be worn both by the soldier or the demo will probably be a melee replacement. But hey, I don't care for the 4th weapon. Some Valve guy stated that it works better with the demo then the soldier. Then let him have it. And I got 3 fucking awesome weapons. Although I will have to see about replacing the shotgun. They got one for demo's too
That one is easy, I can stickyjump in badwater from blu 1st spawn till the health and ammo pack at their 2nd spawn (the spawn where blu can come out when the 3th point is capped). I bet that is far enough. And there are 2 things I like to know: the Direct Hit, will probably do more selfdamage when you rocketjump? And what about the Scottish resistance and damage difference with normal Stickies? I bet the crafting of the Direct Hit and the Buggle involves a jarate
I wonder how far that "really long way" is... If a precise Sticky Jump does the trick, or if you have to go bonkers with 8 Stickies and a Medic ubering you. @Kip: There will be Blood... I mean Milestones. (obscure movie references ftw.) The Milestones achievement where never shown on update pages (e.g. Heavy.) The only question left is wheter the milestones are going to be puny bunnyhops like the Spy/Sniper ones or if they go back to the regular milestones. (I tend to the puny bunnyhops though.)
Oh you are so modest! But reall,y teach me. Since I lately discovered that my rocket jumping isnt even ideal, since my height compared to those of others is just plain low. So anyone who would like to teach me? (preferably in-game, because I've read the how-to often enough)
Watch and learn. If you still need help I can probably give you lesson, but this video basically shows everything you need to do. Just a matter of getting used to this quick 180° turn.
+1 There will be blood. There isn't a map long enough that is official that will be supporting 8 stickybombs. 2 usually does the trick. That video is decent and shows the basic principle but there are a lot of variantions on it. Stuff like :
Sticky jumping is easier than rocket jumping, because you don't have to aim to the ground and can explode whenever you want. It just needs a lot of practice, once you managed, you won't forget how to do it, it becomes a 6th sense Oh don't forget to crouch, some people never learn to jump high enough, because they don't use crouch. Even when I'm normal jumping as a scout (or other class) I'm using jump -> crouch (I'm not sure it it helps, it helped in CCS, nevertheless I'm doing it as a reflex). That should help. First thing what I'm going to try when I have my hands on the Scottish Resistance, is using it in an offensive way. Maybe it will be better than normal stickies in the right hands
