That means more pipe for suddenly appearing enemies and more stickies for places where enemies are going to walk, like badlands if you manage to get to the middle fast enough, you can hold at least 2 ways and when you use 1 trap, the other is still there... So it might be a good weapon after all.
i found something weird in the soldier achievements... gib a player with a granade? where are granades in the unlocks :lol: or is it the new (extra) unlock for the war thingy

War has come to an end. Soldiers won with 33,000 more kills than soldiers. Reward are boots, that reduce rocket jump damage. 2 new CTF Maps, ctf_gorge and ctf_doublecross. Anyway, a great event from Valve
Damnit I would have loved to see a Meet the. Too bad, after all that item was way better suited for demoman.
Those jumping boots would've replaced the Grenade Launcher for sure. And that could've meant even more Winbombers. Soooo... basically it would've been better for the Demo but for the sake of gameplay it's better for the Soldier.
After playing a bit with the weapons, I think that they are quite balanced. The demo sword / shield is actually quite decent in damage reduction an upgrades. The new sticky launcher is a real nice trap weapon ( as it was meant to be). The new rocket launcher makes life too easy imo. Rockets fly insanly fast and make it so easy to airshot/hit people. The buff trumpet is nicely balanced. Needs quite a bit of kills/damage and replaces your shotty. The pickaxe is just a straight upgrade. Able to 1hit most classes when you are <25 hp. After all I am glad Valve showed that they can do something decent.
