VSH Map bugs/glitches/errors thread.

    True, some maps some hales are just stupid too.. you dont have to be pro, if your just a little bit good with hale you can win to most teams.

    I'll have to remember to add timbertown to the list. Engineers can build behind planks at some parts of the spawns... just a bit drunk to detail it XD

    perhaps this should fix the rocket me people at spawn that "might" kill someone. (hard to do, but can happen)

    Doesn't that spawn protect mod give players inside spawn godmode? also against hale? (not sure)

    And about that pyro airbast thingy, he already has a buffed detonator,I don't see any use for that.

    I've had it wayyyy too many times, but you're killable but not after 10 head stacks on eyelander. :D
    Idk why, but it must be fixed, I've seen also afew times the same glitch on 1# too? 8)

    Please report the issues to the map developer, for example oilrig and party island map developer is at this area...maybe you can find the developers by searching the maps name...also oilrig and party island have the developers e-mail placed in the map...

    and the complains about the maps...I'm suspecting it's not the maps, it's the extra plugins like taunt crits which give you crits for few seconds and you can kill easily the boss unless if it's a pro...try the #2 LZ VSH server which is suppose to make it easier for the boss and give a challenge for the RED/BLU team...even tough it doesn't have taunt crits nerfed or removed...however has some stuff removed...

    I can suspect spawn protection can cause some issues(like this map), so maybe remove rocketme...

    So as far I understood, people in this post can report map issues.
    Hope I understood correctly, as I wanted to say that I always get a hl2.exe crash after I connect to #1 server when it has vsh_aperture_b2a(I hope I typed it correctly). I have tried deleting the map and then downloading it from the server as I connect, but still the same crash.

    You understood the thread correctly.

    That's a weird bug, never had something similar. The only thing I can think of is reinstalling the map, but you already did that :doubt:.

    Maybe you can download the original map files instead of downloading it from the server?
    I'll try to find that link (or if someone can post it here).

    Try disabling multicore rendering or set the texture detail from highest to only high. Or both. Most Source engine games seem to dislike multicore rendering and highest texture detail on some systems and causes hl2.exe crashes upon map change, map loading or certain trigger events. This applies, but not limited to TF2 and L4D2.

    This seems a good option, but since this happens only on aperture map, maybe theres something that my pc doesn't like about it? Maybe it's because of my -dxlevel81?

    Well for the record my TF2 used to crash on certain map changes, for example when the next map was oilrig or poleta... disabling multicore and setting the texture detail lower fixed this issue.

    Rogi, consult with your local server owner to add the new version of aperture :3

    Update, the timberworks spawn door bug is fixed since the door closing/opening script is added. But here's another existing problem:

    arena_ravage_b1
    On the red side where you can jump on the boxes, you can get trapped behind the boxes and not get out, unless you rocket/pipe/double jump out, or use rocketme, or get slapped out by admin.

    Also it would be time to add that patched dropdown map I've been hearing about, cause it has come to my attention that on VSH 2 people abuse that exploit alot, 7 players were banned within 2 days after building there against warning. Common sense says that if you're untouchable in a spot, that's cheating, but it seems like server 2 lacks common sense.

    Also party island seems to be disliked amongst most players, not sure if it's from the wind in the map or the map itself, but alot of players complain about that map so in those cases I make a vote if they want a map change, if 80% votes yes, I force an early map vote that changes the map at the end of the round.

    i think it's only the effects. remove all the bad effects (wind; fog; gravity <- this can be useful sometimes but still; portals; player teleportation into the air really highand hen stunning them for ages) and partyisland would be a nice vsh map imo. all the other effects are fine by me.

    I think dropdown should be removed until the update arrives.

    Also there's a spot on goldtooth (in front of the big sign next to the red spawn) where you can get stuck forever. It's pretty rare but it happened to me and I saw it happen to somebody else too. Even the admin can't slap him out of there.

    As Echo stated: there is a fixed version made by Fatboy, but this map has not been added to the rotation yet.

    Easy to fix.

    Can fix them like for vsh_west, breakable wood plank.

    Easy to fix too, but need to see exactly where it is.

    Working on the ramps for Oilrig, changed only 1 thing, if it doesnt work i'll try a different way to make them. If it doesnt work too, ... well, I'll not be able to fix that :s ...

    Can add more boxes, or move the actual boxes to close that area.

    Trees? more crates? another tower?

    -So, working on the ramps and the teleport, I think I found the problem but not sure... that bug is very strange :?
    Only blu can use that teleport so if the teams switched (as we can see on many maps) when hale is the "red team", he cant be teleported when he's in the water....
    Applied some changes, promise nothing.
    -Thinking about changing the teleport destination, cause spies camp at the teleport and they can stab him easily.
    -Fixed that annoying fix camera that look at the cp and leans to the right.

    Going to work on that map too, all is easy to fix. Naor already worked on this map, but he cant compile or use packrat? :(

    I like this event.
    You know the "roll the dice" plugin?
    Sometimes it has a change to get something cool and sometimes something shit.
    The moon event is a rare event. So sometimes a crap event ... :D

    Appreciate any effort to fix these maps, i'll upload the fixed maps for sure.

    p.s. it might be good to also change the map rotation based on number of players.. we have 1 map which is really big (with sentry spot in the middle .. so nothing less then 20 people = dont do it.

    Perhaps oilrig if its less then 16 people, do oilrig, if its more.. then dont.
