VSH Map bugs/glitches/errors thread.

    About party island... it only gets voted when there's an increased amount of ignorant players who press F1.

    Scaling down the living room sounds like a good idea, but remember there are parts that are already so small it requires crouching (window crack, certain shelves with objects).

    Making a vent maze in Magazine would be a good improvement, but it requires experimenting and testing.

    On Mann co HQ I actually thought of the idea to make 2 or more separate spawns to least have a chance at separating engineers from pyros/demos blowing the boss away. Kind of similar to Crevice's spawns. But the map itself needs more added cause at the moment it's too bugged with invisible barriers and wide open space.

    I might have a look at some of these issues (if my tf2 hammer works again :doubt: ).

    Echo, can you provide several images of the things that need changes in livingroom and magazine? Haven't played these maps yet, so I don't really know what's a problem and what's not. Would be appreciated :)

    As for partyisland, and like everyone has already said, I'd remove it. Nobody liked it, and nobody likes the edited version either (no offense to Nemesis, he did a great job, it's just the map in general). It only gets chosen by f1 spammers or nominated by trollers.

    Darkness could you please put a toilet somewhere in living room?
    Also Arakawa mine event isn't balanced at all. Whenever its on Hale wins because everyone walks outside, dies, and hale doesn't get affected by it. You could remove it or higher the damage on the boss. I kinda like watching everyone die to it....

    I'll get around to the living room screen caps later tonight.

    As for magazine, it's simply the vent tunnels making a huge camp fest and the turns having a high enough roof for sentry placement.

    I wasn't sure about kicking people for abusing that. after I saw a special topcat do it too ;D

    The same goes for the wood planks on that map with a rail line in the middle (can't remember the name). An island with high buildings on it, surrounded by water.
    Engies can build on the planks too and crack them afterwards, so the sentries hover above the water. Makes it pretty hard for Hale. Any chance to fix that, too?

    On aperture_lz_b3, I saw a heavy on a very peculiar spot on the map. I don't know how he got there but I managed to get some screenshots.

    It might be unclear because it was the end of the round so I had to take them quickly

    For vsh_livingroom_v2 I would recommend to either remove the whole section on the outside or take out the map. That's the only map that I know can take up to a half an hour, since lots of the time scunts, hale or other useless characters wonder out there causing the rest of the players to become aggravated, and ad mins can't be there to sort out the all the time. The map is good for a change from the other maps, but exceedingly big. I'll try to see if I can edit it a bit. :D

    Was he there also before the end of the round? As it is possible to get down there when the round ends as the tele and insta-death to non-hale characters is disabled. If he was down there before I got no idea :doubt:

    He was there before round end, he was the one who finished off the Vagineer. Even the player playing as the Vagineer, couldn't reach him...

    Might be one of the things which is worth putting on Jira. Create a task named something like "VSH map fixes", then a subtask for each map and slap the description in there. This way mappers can look which maps need fixing, and once it's fixed, you can close the subtask.
    Chances of it getting lost/forgotten about is probably smaller than if it's in here. :)

    Hale can kill them easily and it's hard to get to. If you miss the jump , you die. (Aperture)

    Well the only hale that can easily kill them is Christian Brutal Sniper, since he can snipe them without the need to go near them. The other hales (Saxton Hale and the Vagineer) have to get into melee range to kill them, this is pratically impossible since hale will be teleported somewhere else when falls down*.


    *Not sure if he'll always be teleported. If he nails the spot he might not be teleported. Needs more testing

    He can jump on them. You can't really move down there as player.

    Also working on a nerf on the stomp of hale. These 24/7 bunny hoppers just stomping the whole team is just boring.

    On other news, if saxton crashes it will try and restart the map rather then crash. People will still be connected, which is better then crash.
