Reading this darn topic again...... And thinking about going to play a game after I am done with reading the forum.
my bro has the modem on his room, so he uses the cable. at speedtest.net he only got less 1 mb more then I did. it was 7.6 against 8.4 mbps. So I guess faster internet won't hurt
that is really really more then enough you need for playing a game.. the point is wireless has a bigger lost op the ip packages... so trough the tcp protocol it gotta resend them.. thats why you get a bigger latency.. and trough the latency you get a bad game.. the number at the end of your score might be low but that just that one strong test package the real game data is not transfering any good
It won´t hurt if you plan to pirate a bunch of stuff, I am on 6 mbps on average and you don´t see me lagging ingame
Wondering why 8mbps isn't enough speed unless you always dl with full bandwidth ( 1MB/sec) Restrict your upload speed too, always influences ping.
counting to... 14 or somthing now? but what the hell it was free right my dads 50th birthday tommorow so making preperations
preparing for the next 3 day's off none stop party hahaha yesterday was great to with the Q-party (Q-music is a belgian radio-station)
@ the guys about the internet. But my ping is usually around 40, IF I get internet that is. These days I barely can connect and loading the forum takes ages. and that 6mbps is on speedtest. if I actually have to download something (f.e. a steam update) I get 900kb/s MAX. sometimes it's only 150. (also if it's not something that the whole world is downloading at the same time.)
