Yes, seen my brother get his up and running, I spent most of the day tryng to get the god dammed TV tuner card working, which I finally did. Now I have to figure out why I have no sound, or indeed no sound options... Anyway it has been a long day and I am off to bed. Up in about 6 hours for work...
Heh once I tried to play back a DVD on an Ubuntu machine, after everything failed I just installed windows on it. The money for a windows license seems worth it, considering how much trouble I didnt have
Worth it once you get it set up, which I finally have. Just tried record 2 HD and 2 sd channels at the same time, worked fine with 2 tuners (muxes FTW) My sound wasn't working because I hadn't disabled the on-board sound in the BIOS, worked fine after that On a bad note Ubuntu currently doesn't support Blu-ray drives, so going to have to wait on that one...
Gardening our new garden... rank with weeds since a year ago. Working 4 days straight from morning to afternoon and still not done. щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
Spent the day (and still going) trying to fix my dads mates laptop, he has the metropolitan police virus (among others) on it. Absolutely fucked his laptop up.
I had a spanish version of this virus once, I spammed my pc right after login with ctrl+alt+del (task manager, keep pressing it) so the pc would have huge lags giving me some seconds before the virus would open itself. When the task manager opened I terminated quickly a suspicious .exe and deleted after some google research other related files to the virus. I needed 5-8 tries to get it right in time. If this wont work, try this site deletemalware.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/remove-metropolitan-police-ransomware.html And if that all wont work, delete partitions, make new ones and reinstall windows.
Ended up doing this, got rid of the polive virus in safe mode, but he had others on that was stopping rdsskiller and other anti-virus running. So backing up his data and using the Acer recovery partition.
