high fps gives you m0re fps I don't know the exact details. Don't forget to read the readme in the files. You will have to put some launch options on your game.
Yeah i tried it for Counter Strike Source now wtf before 60-70 FPS and now 90 FPS and when the game stats 200FPS  ty. i take this launch option -dxlevel x -w x -console -novid -freq x -nojoy -noipx -full , but i dont know why my game starts now always in the 800x600 Resulution. :!:
Incomparable, if you look back at my post it says GeForce GTX260 (the old one, the 192 streamprocessors version, the new version has 216...). Let me state my machine I had here (I dont have this anymore...) Core 2 Duo E6850 Penryn 3.0Ghz, 4mb cache 2 Gig ram Kingston HyperX 1066Mhz GTX260, 896mb vRam Integrated soundcard (never upgraded to a loose card) This was my setup, not powerfull but certainly enough to play the latest games. If I wanted I could have gotten just a tad bit more memoryspeed if I would have overclocked my memory (the Kingston HyperX was actually meant to overclock...) Why do you ask Incomparable?? PS: could it be at higher frames per second you can get dizzy because of the rate the images are being created; your eyes/brain cant process these images fast enough... Thats what I had somewhat when playing Q3 @ 600fps...
I think you didn't read it all. The line you suggested is just an example. Code: -dxlevel x -w x -console -novid -freq x -nojoy -noipx -full Should be something like Code: -dxlevel 81 -w 1024 -console -novid -freq 65 -nojoy -noipx -full And I am sure you forgot some commands, since there is no "h" (height of the gamewindow), only a "w" (width of the gamewindow). That might also be your problem with the 800x600 resolution. In the tf2 config there is another line under the one you suggested. And it explains all commands.
I'm missing something :? I downloaden that m0rehighfps thing. but all I get is "autoexe.config" ,something I can't open. no read me or anything.. halp?XD
Its quite easy Killvion. This file, autoexec.cfg needs to be placed in your "Steam\steamapps\<steamname>\team fortress 2\tf\cfg" folder. The instructions in this file, which you can open with notepad or wordpad, alters some settings for you in TF2. Helpfull?
it's realy simpel just open it with wordpad (this way the build stay's wile in kladblok it sometimes puts everything on 1 line) normaly you just have to paste it to your cfg folder like khadagar said. the file loads every time TF2 starts. i think i tried this one to but it's comes at a cost nice graphs but has better performance
You can open the config file with a note/wordpad... The things in there are ment to go in your config in your tf2 map... I've changed some of the settings, but not are a legal anymore... You can also copy the config file to your tf2 config map and adjust your config to ad the following line. exec autoexec.cfg as a last line. This will auto load this config once you start up.
Let me explain this completly. Step 1) Go to m0re.nocrits.com and download the fps or high fps config. Step 2) Open the .rar with winrar (or a similar program) Step 3) Open the autoexec.cfg with notepad/kladblok Step 4) Inside you find this Code: // _______________ // | READ THIS | // ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ // x:\Steam\steamapps\<user name>\team fortress 2\tf\cfg // clear config.cfg ;; dont clear bind commands // right click tf2 > properties > launch options // -dxlevel 81 -w 1280 -h 800 -full -console -novid -heapsize 1572864 -freq 75 -nojoy -noipx -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd // -dxlevel x -w x -h x -full/window -console -novid -heapsize x -freq x -nojoy -noipx -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd // ____________________ // | LAUNCH OPTIONS | // ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ // -heapsize ;; system memory/2 (x 1024) | [ 2048 / 2 (x 1024) = 1048576] // -nojoy ;; Disables joystick to reduce memory usage. // -noipx ;; Don't load IPX Connections, save ram. // -noforcemspd ;; Use desktop mouse speed settings. // -noforcemparms ;; Use desktop mouse buttons settings. // -noforcemaccel ;; Use desktop mouse acceleration settings. // -window ;; This enables tf2 to start in a window mode, instead of fullscreen. // -full ;; This runs tf2 in full screen mode. // -freq ;; Set the Refresh Rate // -nocrashdialog ;; Suppresses some memory could not be read unhandled errors. // -32bit ;; Forces the engine to start in 32-bit mode. Only useful on 64-bit Operating Systems. // -dev ;; Enables developer mode. Also disables the automatic loading of menu background maps and stops the quit dialog from appearing on exit. // // -autoconfig ;; Restores video and performance settings to default for the current hardware detected. Ignores settings inside any .cfg files until this parameter is removed. // _________________________________________________ // | DONT TOUCH UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOURE DOING | There is no need to do anything below that line, unless you know what you are doing. Step 5) Everything that is written after // is not considered to be "code" just something the autor might add. There is a line Code: -dxlevel x -w x -h x -full/window -console -novid -heapsize x -freq x -nojoy -noipx -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd This is what you will need to tweek and put in your launch options. Launch options can be found steam-->TF2-->properties-->set launch options. Step 6) Tweek that code. Let's cut it down to smaller bits Code: -dxlevel x You will want this to be 81, so it uses DX 8 as a graphics "driver". Wich cut's down on your graphic levels and thus increasing your FPS. Code: -w x -h x -full/window Width and Height of you gamewindow. In my case my resolution is 1280x1024 so that would be : "-w 1280 -h 1024". Now you can choose to run this game in windowed mode or in a full window. Choose one out of two. Code: -console -novid Enables the console and skips the video that you see when you start up the game. Code: -heapsize x This is a tricky one. It makes sure you optimize your memory settings. Now the calculation is easy "system memory/2 (x 1024) for example I have 2 gigs or Ram = [ 2048 / 2 (x 1024) = 1048576]" Code: -freq x The amount of "screen refreshes" if you know the rate your screen refreshes in Hz put it in here. If not, leave it out. Code: -nojoy -noipx Disables joystick and IPX. Code: -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd Disables mouse acceleration. Mouse accel makes your mouse go further the faster you move it. That means you can cover great ingame distances by moving very fast outgame. Most people prefer this to be off so you can be more consistent (1cm outgame = 60 degree ingame, instead letting it relay on the speed they move the mouse). With these settings on it will use your desktop mouse settings. Not neccesary if you already disabled mouse accel. My launchoptions look like Code: -dxlevel 81 -w 1280 -h 1024 -full -console -novid -heapsize 1572864 -freq 75 -nojoy -noipx Step 7) Now put your customized command line in the launch options. Save the autoexec.cfg to YOURSTEAMNAME/tf/cfg and you should be good to go! Hope this helps mate!
Yes I didn't read all but the most and the command list i read too  . pS. : thank you that helped allot  . the what i've done was wrong . caleb : was just a question.
hey I just wanted to say that my new max is around 70 the program works very nice although it feels like I'm playing a 3D version of Gang Garisson 2 instead of TF2. but it doesn't matter. I'm getting used to it if you don't know what GG2 is then go google it XD no, it's an online 2D version of TF2. and pretty funny but just no graphics at all XD
Did change some settings, cleaned my pc, software and dust and now my fps is back to 60-70. So I can play TF2 again... Had some fun this afternoon... Now I will buy a new gfxcard and all will be fine for the time being..
then you haven't been paying attention  I don't get it. I use this config and it's working pretty good. but, then once again this afternoon I got 9 fps :? wth is going on :x :EDIT: my computer is the weirdest ever. this morning I got a new max.. 132 in the spawn of the empty LZ #1 but less then an hour later, my game freezes and I'm back to 9. wtf >.<
Sounds like an overheating problem to me. Or a spyware/malware one. Try letting your pc run open-case on top of your desk or something. Do a scan for malware and stuff.
